Step 1: Pre-Inspection
Our technician will walk through your home to visually inspect the carpet.
Step 2: Dry Soil Removal
We use a variety of techniques to dust rugs from the front and back.
Step 3: Pre-Condition
Depending on the fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soils.
Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation
Potential stubborn spots will be pre-treated with a special solution to increase the chances of removal. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.
Step 5: Shampoo
Most rugs are cleaned with an Oriental Rug Shampoo that is formulated specifically for rugs and is designed to achieve maximum cleaning while protecting sensitive, natural fibers. Rugs are not the same as wall-to-wall carpets and should not be treated the same. Their construction and dyes can be very sensitive to ph, and cleaning solutions.
Step 6: Rinse and extraction
The rugs will be thoroughly rinsed and all cleaning solutions will be removed. We have specialty tools to maximize the water removal so the rugs dry more quickly.
Step 7: Speed Dry
Once the soil is rinsed away, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment.
Step 8: Finishing
When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.
Removing dry soil is one of the most important steps in cleaning. Dry soil is removed by a thorough vacuuming.
Step 9: Post-Inspection and Delivery
Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a final inspection and release it for pickup or delivery. Your rug will be wrapped in brown specialty paper or a plastic cover to protect it from dust and environmental soils until it is picked up or delivered.
