First and foremost, Vacuum, Vacuum, Vacuum! You would not believe how much damage can be caused to you carpet by not regularly vacuuming!

Second, clean up spills quickly, the longer they sit the more they seep into your carpets and flooring.

Dye and Food Stains

Beverages, medicines, cosmetics, foods and other liquids containing dyes should be absorbed first! Then try the liquid dishwashing soap mixture listed below. Blot repeat and rinse with clear water on a clean white towel or white paper towel, then dry.

(Mixture: 1/4 teaspoon clear non-bleach non-lanolin dishwashing soap with 1 cup of cool water.)

Blood

Rinse blood quickly with cool water. Follow with an approved cleaning solution or the mixture listed below. Blot and dry quickly.

(Mixture: 1/4 teaspoon clear non-bleach non-lanolin dishwashing soap with 1 cup of cool water.)

Wine

If the wine spill is fresh we recommend pouring table salt over the ‘affected area’, then allow a few minutes to pass letting the salt absorb the wine, then vacuum the salt, then repeat until the stain is gone! Alternatively, Blot with towel. Use the liquid dishwashing mixture listed below. Blot and dry quickly.

(Mixture: 1/4 teaspoon clear non-bleach non-lanolin dishwashing soap with 1 cup of cool water.)

Urine or Vomit

If left unattended it can damage carpet in several ways. Always clean these up immediately with paper towels. For pet urine/vomit, try a solution of one part white vinegar and one part water. Blot with a towel, repeat.
